CLI Connect — Privacy Policy

What CLI Connect collects

CLI Connect collects only the data required to authenticate you and connect your iPhone to your desktop terminal:

• Email address and display name — provided by Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, used to identify your account.
• User ID — an internal identifier linking your session to your paired machines.
• Device token — an APNs token used to deliver push notifications when you opt in.
• Purchase history — your App Store subscription status, validated via the App Store Server API to grant access.
• Paired-machine metadata — host name, OS type, and connection parameters for machines you pair with the app.

What CLI Connect does not collect

• Terminal input or output is never stored on our servers. The relay passes encrypted WebSocket frames in real time and does not log content.
• No third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs are included.
• No location, contacts, photos, camera, or microphone data is accessed.

How data is stored

Account data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Railway (US region). Session tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain on your device. All network traffic between the app and the backend uses TLS.

Data sharing

CLI Connect does not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Data is shared only with Apple (Sign in with Apple, StoreKit, APNs) and Google (Google Sign-In) as part of authentication and purchase flows you initiate.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the app (profile icon → Delete account). This permanently removes your user record, paired machines, promo redemptions, and push tokens from our database. Your App Store subscription must be cancelled separately in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Children

CLI Connect is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date.
